About Yunomi Teacup, Banko-Yaki, Pair - Shimizu Jun - 180ml

This tea cup is made by Shimizu Jun, son of the legendary Shimizu Suigetsu III and a successor to the celebrated Suigetsu lineage of Banko-yaki in Mie, Japan. Crafted from Shidei (purple clay), it has a calm, natural surface with subtle depth and character.

The cranes are expressed through soft tonal variation in the clay, a result of the Suigetsu family's signature sandblasting technique which creates natural changes in the color of the clay. Some cranes are hand-painted using real gold, adding a gentle, luminous highlight that catches the light beautifully.

Comfortable to hold and quietly elegant, this cup brings both refined craftsmanship and a warm, everyday usability to the tea table.
