About Yunomi Teacup, Banko-Yaki, Pair - Mori Iroku IV - 80ml
This is a matched pair of Banko-yaki yunomi teacups by Mori Iroku IV, featuring his unmistakable diamond-cut surface, a technique that has become his signature within contemporary Banko ceramics.
Each cup is hand-carved after throwing, creating a precise, faceted geometry that subtly catches light and shadow. The surface feels architectural yet restrained, tactile without excess. Unlike decorative carving, the diamond cut is disciplined and functional, improving grip while maintaining a calm, modern presence.
Fired using traditional Banko methods, the clay develops a deep, muted tone with natural variation across the facets. No glaze is used, the character comes entirely from clay, form, and firing. The interiors are smooth and refined, making them especially well-suited for daily tea drinking.
At approximately 80ml, these yunomi are ideal for sencha, gyokuro, or high-quality black tea in small pours.
