About Japanese Yunomi Teacup set – Masaki Tachi – Banko-Yaki Handmade Tea cups 80ml
Masaki Tachi Chigire Yunomi Pair
A pair of Banko-yaki yunomi by Masaki Tachi, featuring his distinctive chigire technique and quiet, dark clay finish.
This set was selected as a complementary pair rather than two identical cups. One cup is slightly larger, giving the pair a subtle masculine/feminine balance while keeping a shared visual language. The textured bands echo one another, but each cup has its own variation in pattern and proportion, making the set feel more alive and individual.
The exterior shows Tachi’s signature textured surface, contrasted by smoother bands and a refined, unglazed feel. Inside, the cups are calmer and more minimal, creating a strong balance between tactile character and everyday usability.
These cups are well suited for sencha, gyokuro, or other fine Japanese teas, and also work beautifully as collectible everyday yunomi for those who appreciate handmade functional ceramics with distinct maker character.
